“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. John 14:1
As someone once said if you don’t say I am nobody will say you are. A few years ago we had a couple of gypsy families in our ministry. After a few visits I realize that anytime we enter their house they take off their shoes and put it by the door. So naturally I felt obliged to do the same each time I visited any one of them even though they insisted I should wore my shoes I still was not comfortable knowing the way they treat their house.
Your friends call you by the name you gave them the first time you met them, they also treat you the way you presented yourself to them. There is a place for humility and there is a place for confidence in who you are, the difference is that your confidence should be based on who God has created you to be and that you are created in His image. Humility comes in when you are aware that you are who you are by the grace of God.
Jesus told the disciples to believe in Him, He knew they believed in God but He also needed them to believe in Him. You can only deliver a hundred percent if you believe in who you are, the same way you cannot help anybody around you unless they believe in who you are. Don’t let people walk all over you for whatever reason because you are the best of you and you need to believe that before anybody anybody else does. It’s not a sin to believe in yourself, its your responsibility to do so.
